About me and my goals
Some of the things I would like to learn and improve on are:
- My CAD skills in fusion 360
- My presentation skills
I have come to realize that chemical engineering is moving towards the direction of digitalization and robotics. If I am able to improve on the my CAD skills in fusion 360, it will be a useful tool for me in the industry as I already have a design app that I am proficient in to be used for a project that I will be working on. I would also like to improve on my presentation skills as i know that there will be alot of presentations in the industry. and the only way to convince my bosses/clients of my proposal is by a convincing and interesting presentation. this is where presentation skills comes in, from the production of creative and interesting powerpoint slides to the delivery of the presentation.
How I will achieve this is by practicing my CAD skills whether in lesson or even outside of the lesson hours. I will also search for videos on Youtube if I have any doubts on how to use the app itself or even ask my friends who are more proficient in it. how I would like to improve my presentation skills is by doing up most of the presentation slides(if given a task to present) and get my peers to check on how it looks and ask for feedback. I will also search for videos on effective presentation skills to learn how to grasp the attention of my audiences despite my low and monotonous voice. I will try to learn and include hand gestures in my presentations so that there is more interaction from the audience and will make the presentation less arid.
I will know that I have accomplished the goal of improving my CAD skills by the end of semester if I am able to design a 3D product using the Fusion 360 without any form of reference from other sources--I can do it independently and second nature.
I will know that I have accomplished the goal of improving my presentation skills if by the end of the semester,I have the audiences' full attention even after finishing and someone compliments me about my presentation skills and my slides :D
As a team, we have agreed on some ground rules to be followed by each team member.
The rules are:
- All members must be on time for all meetings
- All members must strive to contribute high-quality work for the whole module
- Each member must help each other out with their role
- We must stay on task during meetings and lessons
With these ground rules in mind, we hope that our common goal of achieving a good grade for this module is reachable and will help us in the workforce or future endeavours!!
